Renovation Work Forces Temporary Closure of Captain William Spry Public Library on November 4

Halifax - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Due to ongoing work on the Captain William Spry Community Centre and the library, the branch will be closed all day on Tuesday November 4, 2008. Patrons wishing to return materials can use the book drop located in the parking lot; however, late fees will not be charged on items due November 4. Items can also be renewed by visiting halifaxpubliclibraries.ca or by calling 490-5845. Please note that programs and activities scheduled for November 4 are also cancelled.

Over the next few months, crews will be hard at work in and around the library to make it more welcoming and user-friendly. Among the changes, a brand new Imagination Station to provide educational play for little ones, more public-access computers, a new space for teens, more seating and reading room for adults, and new materials.
