Musquodoboit Harbour Renovation Project

Beginning December 8, the Library will be closed for the remainder of the renovation project

The Musquodoboit Harbour Renovation Project is wrapping up.

Beginning December 8, the Library and its temporary space will be closed for the remainder of the renovation project. The Library will close December 7 at 8:00pm, and we will be closed for an anticipated 4-5 weeks. This closure will accommodate construction activities and and allow time for Library staff to transfer materials and set up the new space.

Your renovated Library and Community Centre will re-open in early 2018 with a celebratory event. We will be sharing Grand Re-Opening details as soon as they are available.

We would like to thank our Musquodoboit Harbour community for its ongoing support, patience, and enthusiasm during this Renovation Project.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by the closure and we look forward to welcoming you to your new and improved Library.

During the Closure

Returns

  • You can still return your items to the Library via the returns drop located onsite in Musquodoboit Harbour. It will be emptied regularly.
  • Library materials can also be returned to any academic or public Library in Nova Scotia. The two closest Halifax Public Libraries branches are Cole Harbour and Sheet Harbour.
  • Staff will also be suspending holds to ensure your requested materials do not end up at Musquodoboit Harbour during the closure.

Holds

If you are placing a hold after December 7, you have two options:

  • Select a different branch as your pick-up location.
  • Suspend your holds until the branch re-opens. Library staff will be watching for holds placed for Musquodoboit Harbour during the closure, and will suspend any that are left as active.

Final Weeks: Stock Up!

  • Items that are borrowed between Thursday, November 16 and Thursday, December 7 (the last three weeks the Musquodoboit Harbour temporary space is open) will have an extended borrow time of 8 weeks.
  • During the week of December 4-7, pop in for cider and treats while you stock up on materials to carry you through the closure.
