Access for All

Assistive-technology workstations are currently available at the following library branches:

  • Alderney Gate Public Library
  • Captain William Spry Public Library
  • Halifax North Memorial Public Library
  • Sackville Public Library
  • Spring Garden Road Memorial Public Library
  • Woodlawn Public Library

Note: Equipment will also be installed at the Cole Harbour and Keshen Goodman branches as part of the Library’s ongoing efforts to offer universal access.

You can book one of these workstations using our Book a Computer Service.

Workstations feature:

  • an adjustable table for wheelchair access;
  • a 21-inch screen for larger viewing;
  • a large-print keyboard and rollerball mouse;
  • a scanner;
  • and software including a screen reader, a text-to-speech adapter, a screen enlarger as well as various literacy products, standard Microsoft Office software and Internet access.
