The Dream I Had - Poem by Katrina Carver

Space - NASA photo

The stars make my dreams

Binding them together in a mass of gas and dust:

Forming ideas which stay and stand

And twist into my sleep.

Sometimes the stars want to make me appreciate

That life is not a dream;

But sometimes I ache desperately for it to be

Because life is touched by the stars

And so are our dreams

As they drift toward us,

Like fate drifts towards the fire that is our future.

And as that fated wheel of time turns

My dreams are fleeting whispers in my loud past.

And I just want to remember

The dream I had

Where the stars all sang my name.
