Entertainment and creativity on your Library computer

Library announces 3 year plan for upgrade

All public use computers at Halifax Public Libraries are being replaced with new computers running Windows 10.

The new technology project helps the Library remain current, offers the latest features, and meets expectations of community members.

  • Windows 10 operating system
  • Better multimedia experience for creative use
  • Small footprint, less desktop clutter
  • Faster performance
  • Consistent experience at all branches

One branch at a time

Known as a rolling upgrade, the installation of the latest public use computers is happening one branch at a time.

We hope to upgrade all computers within three years.

Planned maintenance of our technical resources is always a good idea.

We believe all community members need access to the latest industry standard experiences.
