The Sunroom Connects You to Art

Local Art in The Sunroom | It's official: We let the sunshine into our new art exhibit space—The Sunroom. On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, Åsa Kachan, Chief Librarian and CEO of Halifax Public Libraries, hosted a meet and greet in this beautiful 5th floor space at our Central Library. In her welcoming remarks, she highlighted the importance of art in public spaces. The opening show “As Time Goes By” by local artist Shelley Mitchell makes it easy to connect and reflect on life in Halifax—her interpretation of local scenes translates her unique point of view as an artist into a universal experience for all to share.
