Urban Sketches

Take a stroll through Halifax's unique landscapes!

Throughout December 2017 and January 2018, 'Urban Sketches' exhibit by Andy Lynch are on display at The Sunroom at Central Library.

Andy Lynch has been drawing buildings his whole life.

When he was younger, you could find Andy in New Glasgow, sketching as an art student, or later on the Halifax Waterfront drawing tugboats as an architect in training. His love for his art has never left him as he continued as an architect while practicing in Halifax and now as a retired architect with spare time to enjoy a life-long pastime.

Much of Andy’s work features historic buildings and streetscapes in Lunenburg and Halifax where there is much to explore. He recently joined the Halifax Urban Sketchers and as a consequence, plein air sketching put him back on street corners. Urban Sketches features drawings spanning sixty years of living and loving the South Shore, Halifax, and Windsor.

The Sunroom is made possible by the generosity of Margot and Layne Spafford.
