Leading Readers is a program that pairs teen volunteers in the community with elementary school children ages 5-10 who are struggling or reluctant readers. These pairs meet once a week to read together, play educational games, and explore books through fun activities.
Are you:
- in Grade 10 - 12?
- available Wednesdays between 3:30 and 5:00 PM?
Why you should become a Leading Readers Volunteer:
- Earn work-related experience to put on your resume or use on your university/scholarship applications
- Fulfill your volunteer requirements for graduation or school Duke of Edinburgh program
- Make new friends
- Have fun getting kids excited about reading!
