Sew Cool: A New Community Sewing Machine at Keshen Goodman Public Library

Generously donated by the Lou Duggan Creative Studio

Spooler Alert! There is a new Community Sewing Machine in town, and you can use it at Keshen Goodman Public Library.

This sewing machine was generously donated by the Lou Duggan Creative Studio at Halifax Central Library.

We had a wonderful turnout for our launch event on May 9, 2025. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to test-drive the new Community Sewing Machine and share in the creativity. The space was alive with the hum of ideas (and actual sewing).

The machine is now officially available for bookings—perfect for hemming pants, mending a beloved piece, piecing a quilt, or crafting something totally original. It’s free, beginner-friendly, and comes with all the essentials to get you started.
