Cool Reads for Hot Days! by Julia, Staff Blogger

Surfer Happy Face Graphic

Grab some shade and read something great this summer! (Don’t forget the SPF)

Summer is the time to live on the edge, explore new things, challenge yourself and read something new. A brilliant biography, a magical mystery, a tantalizing thriller, factual non-fiction, creepy true crime, a wild romance; you never know -  a whole new world could open before your eyes!

The choices you make turn the pages of your life.  So…read something different this summer, reach for the stars!  You never know what could unfold.

Here are a few more reasons why you should read over the summer:

  • Reading for fun is a good predictor of intellectual capacity, language & reading speed.
  • Youth who read four or more books over the summer get better scores on reading comprehension tests in the fall than students who don't read over the summer.

Enjoy the summer sun and check out some of these cool new books while you’re at it!~ Julia, Staff Blogger
