Support Estate Clinics
Estate Clinics help community members to create their own basic wills, personal directives, and enduring power of attorney at no cost through the use of the Legal Information of Nova Scotia's free online applications. The program allows members of the public to overcome financial and technological barriers that often prevent individuals from having these vital documents.
As an Estate Navigator Support Volunteer, you will meet 1-on-1 with community members during clinics to assist them with the use of the LISNS applications. You will provide a friendly face, technological support, and legal information to make what can often be a daunting process more approachable.
What you'll be doing
Under the supervision of Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia staff members, you will:
- Meet by appointment with community members.
- Determine if the app is right for the community member and their situation.
- Provide basic technological support navigating computer usage.
- Answer questions about the applications used to create wills, personal directives, and enduring power of attorneys.
- Offer encouragement during the process.
About you
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to speak and read English proficiently.
- Are confident using computers, and navigating basic troubleshooting.
- Are friendly, patient, and supportive.
- Are objective, impartial and non-judgemental in your work.
- Can commit 4 hours per month.

Schedule
Sessions will be held at Alderney Gate Public Library.
Clinic schedules will be determined according to volunteer availability.
