On February 26 and 28, Community Open Houses were held at Halifax North Memorial Public Library to share how feedback from Phase 1 of Community Engagement is helping to guide the new design for North Branch, so far. Both sessions were opportunities to ask questions about the renovation, share thoughts with the project team, and imagine new possibilities for the Library, together. Guests enjoyed food from Rossi Soul Food, alongside family-friendly engagement activities and an interactive model of the branch.

Sheet Harbour Public Library: July 2025 Groundbreaking Event
The groundbreaking event for the Eastern Shore Lifestyle Centre—the future home of the new Sheet Harbour Public Library space—took place in July 2025. Guests in attendance included representatives from federal, provincial and municipal governments, members of the Eastern Shore Lifestyle Centre Committee community group, as well as members of the Millbrook First Nation who led the group in a ceremonial smudging.

Concept Boards for the Sheet Harbour Public Library in the Eastern Shore Lifestyle Centre
Sheet Harbour Public Library will have a new home in the community. The Eastern Shore Lifestyle Centre will feature a community hall, Library space, recreation programming areas, including a fitness centre and a reconstructed Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Station 28.
