Summer by Erin Hollingshead

 

On display from November 9, 2019 to January 3, 2020 in The Sunroom at Halifax Central Library. 

This collection of paintings by Erin Hollingshead explores the theme of Summer. Through the use of oil and acrylic paints, the images are produced from photos taken by the artist as well as collage and imagination. Themes explored range from creatures of the night, to hot summer weather and summer time fun.

About the artist

Erin Hollingshead is originally from Ontario, and has been living in Nova Scotia since 2014. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD University and is currently studying for her Bachelor of Education at Mount Saint Vincent University and working as an artist. Her main medium focuses are relief block printing and oil or acrylic painting. There are two themes that you can always find in her work: nature and portraiture.
