Closed for Labour Day
All branches and departments of Halifax Public Libraries will be closed for the Labour Day holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Fall hours begin post-holiday
Starting on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the Library's branches will begin operating under fall hours. For some locations, fall hours include being open on Sundays. To see if your Library is open on Sundays in the fall, check the Hours & Locations page after the Labour Day weekend.
Please note:
- Starting September 13, Cole Harbour Public Library will be making changes to its open hours so the community can better access the branch. You will be able to visit the branch on Sundays from 12:00 - 5:00PM.
The Library is closed on all statutory and civic holidays.
