Sportwheels Free to Play Collection at Sackville Public Library

Community members can now borrow and test out sports equipment

Launched August 2022, Updated January 2023

In celebration of Sportwheels' 75th anniversary, this Sackville small business has generously shared a token of their appreciation with community, via Sackville Public Library.

As of August 20, 2022 you'll be able to visit Sackville Public Library and borrow quality new sporting gear donated by Sportwheels—like baseball gloves, lacrosse sticks, basketballs, soccer balls, and disc golf equipment—just like you would borrow a book. And, as of January 16, 2023, we've added ball hockey kits for winter activities!

Sportwheels' vision was to provide a gift that could be utilized for years to come while creating experiences that are affordable and accessible to everyone. This gift lines up with their mission of Helping Families Stay Active

How it works

As a limited-quantity, localized collection, the Free to Play collection will only be available for borrowing from Sackville Public Library. Here's how you can get your game on!

Each Free to Play Kit has a loan period of one week and must be returned in-person at Sackville Public Library. Do not use Book Drops to return the kits.

  1. Find available Free to Play Kits by searching "Sportwheels" in our catalogue or by talking to a staff member at Sackville Public Library.
  2. Visit Sackville Public Library to borrow your Free to Play Kit of choice.
  3. Enjoy with friends and family! Play away, and if you snap a photo or video, be sure to tag us on social media @hfxpublib—we'd love to see you in action!
  4. Return your Kit by the due date so the collection can be shared and enjoyed by all. Borrow again soon!
