About

Opened in 2015, Musquodoboit Valley Community Office is our Community Librarian’s home base in the community, and offers:

  • An outdoor Book Return (next to the vending machine).
  • Lots of parking.
  • An accessible building.
  • Free WiFi.
  • A collection of technology resources: Chromebooks, scanning, copying, and printing.

What to expect

You’ll receive 1-on-1 attention as we connect you to the resources you need. You might find that the lights are off because we are out in the community meeting with people and hosting programs.

If our regularly scheduled office hours don’t work for you, please let us know and we can set up an appointment.

On a typical day, you might find:

  • The Community Librarian helping someone research their family history or learn how to use new technology.
  • Adults learning a new craft.
  • A Pop-Up Library with books, DVDs, and CDs to borrow.
  • Children making a stop-motion animation video or playing Minecraft
  • Book club members watching a live stream of an author reading
  • A family registering for library cards
  • A Borrow by Mail client getting book pick recommendations and placing holds
