Freedom To Read Week 2023 Quiz: Test Your Knowledge of Banned and Challenged Books

      by BehindTheShelves February 23, 2023
Freedom to Read Week encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Libraries and schools are regularly asked to remove books people deem offensive or inappropriate for certain audiences.

Throughout history, many books have been put to the test for their thoughts, language, and opinions—now it's your turn to test your knowledge about them.

In honour of Freedom to Read Week, opens a new window, we’re quizzing readers on some of the most frequently challenged book selections. We're also highlighting Freedom to Read Week as a time for Canadians to reflect and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom—guaranteed to us under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Take this quiz to test your knowledge of books promoting freedom of speech, thought, and expression. And feel FREE to share with your friends, family, and community.

      Happy quizzing!
