Library Service Update:

Please note the following changes:​​​

  • As of July 7, all branches of Halifax Public Libraries have opened again to offer in-person services specific to their location.
  • All in-person Library events have been cancelled until the end of August 2020, unless otherwise communicated. 
  • All branch Book Drops are open to accept the return of items. 
  • All private room bookings are cancelled and will be refunded in full.
  • Halifax Public Libraries has extended all loan periods for physical items (books, instruments, etc.) checked out before July 7, 2020. Please login to "My Account" for updates on your checked out items, or call Ask the Library. Physical items borrowed on July 7 and after, will loan for the same period of time as before the closure – 21 days for most items, and 7 days for DVDs, Rapid Read books, and other high-demand items.​ Please visit this page for a full list of loan periods.
