To make this transition as seamless as possible for you, we’ve provided answers to some FAQs below.

Why did this happen?

Earlier this year, OverDrive, opens a new window was acquired by global investment firm, KKR, who also own RBdigital Magazines. As a result of the acquisition, all of our magazines from RBdigital moved over to OverDrive on January 28, 2021.

Will the titles I enjoy reading in RBdigital still be available on OverDrive?

Don’t worry—you’ll still be able to borrow and enjoy all the same great titles that were available from RBdigital on OverDrive, and the Libby app by OverDrive.

What will happen to the RBdigital website and app?

The RBdigital website and app will be retired shortly after the transfer of magazines to OverDrive on January 28, 2021. If you have an e-magazine checked out on RBdigital on this date, you can continue to read it in RBdigital until its due date.

Unfortunately, your checkout history from RBdigital will not be moved to OverDrive.

I can only check out 20 items at a time on OverDrive. Will magazines count toward my limit?

All of our e-magazines on OverDrive will be available for unlimited simultaneous use and will not count toward your check out limit. As an added bonus, magazines have no wait lists or holds, so you can enjoy reading them right away.

Can I read e-magazines on my e-reader?

No, you will not be able to use your e-reader to read our magazines.

How will I find e-magazines on OverDrive?

If you have already been enjoying OverDrive, you won’t notice much of a change on OverDrive other than access to even more great titles for you to borrow. A link to E-Magazines will be visible in OverDrive's homepage menu.
