Supporting people in need. Period.
Halifax Public Libraries is proud to support United Way's Tampon Tuesday campaign, opens a new window. Since 2019, local Tampon Tuesday initiatives have collected more tens of thousands of menstrual products from workplaces and individual donors. Products are then delivered to local charities and are made available for people experiencing period poverty in our community.
This year's drive is running now through March 29, 2022 and you can drop off products at any of our locations during this time period. Our Libraries will accept products via collection boxes inside the branch and/or at Info Desks.
United Way Halifax, NSGEU, and Halifax Public Libraries are proudly partnering to offer this community drive for another year.
- 100% of products will go to United Way’s 2022 Tampon Tuesday Program, and be distributed to their funded agencies and community sites, helping remove barriers for those experiencing period poverty.
- We can only accept products in unopened boxes/packaging.
- If you would like to make a monetary donation, please contact United Way directly. The Library cannot accept monetary donations or gift cards.
The Library offers free menstrual products in all of our washrooms for anyone who may need them. Please take what you need or tell a friend, any time.
