Exam Study Tips

Exams are coming up, and that means a lot of stress. To alleviate a bit of that stress, here are five tips to help with your studying:F in Exams- book cover

  • Get started. If you leave all of your studying until the last minute it’s going to be more stressful and it won’t help very much. Start getting your notes together and study early to avoid panicking the night before your exam.
  • Get enough sleep. If you’re staying up late to study you will be exhausted the next day, which is awful if you have an exam. If you are tired, you won’t be able to focus very well so it is best to rest up instead.
  • Take breaks. If you don’t take breaks your focus will start to wander and even though you say you’re studying you won’t be getting much done. If you take a break you can come back later and be entirely focused. Time your breaks to be thirty minutes or so and when the time is up get back to it.
  • Don’t multitask. I’m sorry but you really can’t watch the latest episode of your favorite TV show and manage to study well. No matter how good you are, it just doesn’t work.
  • Find out what works for you. We all learn in different ways and we all study in different ways. Find out what way of studying works best for you. Personally, I like to write out my notes from class on cue cards. Writing things out again helps me to remember them and the cue cards are handy for looking over topics again later. Find out how you study best and get started.

Good luck!
