Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere in Nova Scotia

Explore Nova Scotia and all the tales it has to tell.

Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere (BARA) is a collaborative program offered by a provincial network of public libraries, community college libraries, and university libraries.

Take your finds on the road

As you travel our province, you can take items borrowed from Halifax Public Libraries along with you without worry, and ensure their safe return to us.

As part of the BARA service, these items can be returned to any participating public library, community college library, or university library in Nova Scotia—over 100 locations, opens a new window!

Discover new things in new places

When you need something else to read, listen to, or watch, you can get a card and borrow items from any of these 100 locations.

  • The registration and lending policies of each library system are varied.
  • Return material to any participating library – regardless of where the material was originally borrowed.
  • Certain items cannot be returned to different library systems. Check with your lending library for details.

Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere is free, easy and convenient. It's your library, everywhere you go.
