What is East Coast Recipes?
East Coast Recipes is part of our E-Library of free online tools. This platform gives you access to over 3,000 curated recipes sourced from Atlantic Canada’s favourite chefs and cookbook authors. You can find recipes that fit your needs by browsing a seasonally updated selection of themed shelves, or searching for recipes by ingredient, dietary needs, cuisine type, and much more.
East Coast Recipes allows you to search and view without downloading anything, so all you need is an internet connection to get started. You can view the site on any computer or mobile device, though computers and tablets work best.
You can find East Coast Recipes on our website by visiting the E-Library tab at the top of any page, or from our list of digital resources. No library card required!
Browse in-season recipes on the website homepage, or search the full recipe collection using the search bar. You can also filter recipes by meal type, main ingredient, prep time, and much more using the navigation bars across the top of the screen.
Already know exactly what you’re looking for? The advanced search feature lets you search with multiple filters at once, so you can find the recipe that’s perfect for your dinner table.
How do I view a recipe?
You can view a recipe by simply clicking on its name or image from the homepage or the search results page. The recipe will be displayed in an e-book format that mimics the book from which the recipe is sourced. This book viewer tool allows you to zoom in and out, toggle between single- and double-page views or print the recipe to save it for later. You can also virtually turn the book’s pages to browse other recipes in the same book by clicking the arrows on either side of the screen.
If you’re looking for something specific, there is a small search bar at the top of the book viewer that allows you to search within that book only.
It’s that simple!
