Staff members at Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library are mourning the loss of our community member and friend Robert McIntyre. In his memory, we want to tell you a little bit about Robert and what he gave to us all.
A care worker and pulled-pork specialist
Although not everyone knew Robert by name, they may have sampled one of his amazing pulled pork sandwiches or sliders at one of our community parties.
As both a Community Mental Health Care Worker and part-time chef, Robert was generous in donating his time.
Robert's wife and partner in his adventures of generosity, Dolores Menegazzo, joined him as the original driving force behind a popular Library event; our annual Community Party.
A reason for all to gather
Back in 2013, Robert and Dolores came to library staff with the idea of having a community block party. They wanted to give back to the community and chose the Library because it was a place they both loved.
At the Community Party, you could find Robert outside at his huge smoker preparing lunch for hundreds, always wearing a big smile on his face.
Robert McIntyre will be remembered for his kindness and generosity by library staff. His legacy of celebrating his community will continue into the future.
