Children’s Learning Support
A little help for big dreams
At Halifax Public Libraries, we believe learning happens everywhere, not just in school. Learning is about understanding and being able to use what you know in the world around you.
At Halifax North Memorial Public Library and Sackville Public Library, we have a free afterschool program for school-age kids where they can get some extra help with learning in a friendly, relaxed space.
Volunteer tutors work with children one-on-one or in small groups. We can help with:
- Reading and writing
- Homework and school projects
- Math and numbers
- English language skills
- Using computers and other technology
Children can practice vocabulary, get help with homework, or use games and activities to build skills and confidence.
We know that learning happens in many ways and at every age. This program helps children build important skills, try new things, and feel supported.
