For Teachers

Teachers and home school educators, we're here for you!

The Library is packed with great resources to help your students learn about the world, fall in love with reading, develop research skills, increase digital literacy, and exercise their imagination.

Here are some of the ways you can make the most of the Library:

  • Sign up for our Kids & Families Newsletter  (select 'Kids' as one of your Audience Preferences when subscribing) to get the latest line-up of activities for kids of all ages.
  • Get an institutional library card that lets you borrow work-related items separately from your personal items.
  • Come see us. Need some fiction suggestions for your class? Doing a research unit? Organize a class trip and learn more about the Library. We also offer a variety of curriculum-related events, including author visits, cultural heritage presentations, science sessions, local history, and more.
  • Invite us over. Our Youth Services staff can facilitate a workshop or presentation for your class.  Call your local branch, opens a new window and discuss your needs, and we can come up with the best options for your class.
