The Interlibrary Loan service allows you to borrow materials from other lending libraries in Nova Scotia and across Canada. To place an interlibrary loan request, you will need a valid Halifax Public Libraries card.
Before placing your request, please check:
- Borrowers may have a maximum of five active requests at any one time.

- Books or Audio-Visual Materials: Books, DVDs, Videos, Music CDs, Audio Books not found in the library catalogue.
- Photocopies: Magazine/newspaper articles not found in the Library collection.
- Microform Materials: Canadian newspapers, census records, passenger ship lists, city directories and other archival materials.
