Grand Opening of the New Woodlawn Library

The Woodlawn Library will open in its new location on Sat., April 24.  The grand opening event will begin at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Minister of Education Marilyn More, Mayor Peter Kelly and local MLAs and area councillors will be on hand for the ceremony.

The new Woodlawn branch is located in the former Cineplex at 31 Eisener Blvd. in Dartmouth, just off Portland St. It is more than four times the size of the original Woodlawn branch and features more technology, additional meeting space, a 100-seat auditorium and new materials on the shelves.

There will be musical performances throughout the day, featuring the Sudanese-Canadian group KOJO and live jazz music. For children, there will be crafts, face painting and entertainment provided by Razzmatazz.
