The Sackville Public Library is Temporarily Closing for Refurbishment

The Sackville Public Library will be closed for five weeks for refurbishment work, beginning Sunday, November 6 at 5 p.m. The library will reopen on Saturday, December 10 at 10 a.m., when the library will host a celebratory event for the community.

When it reopens, library users will find many improvements, including new carpets and paint, new computers, two private study carrels and increased areas for laptop plug-ins. There will also be a designated teen area and a quiet study area.

The refurbishment project at the Sackville Public Library is an example of Halifax Public Libraries’ continued investment and commitment to the community and to its branches.

During the closure, you can still return your items to the library via the book drop. Please note there may be times when the outside book drop is temporarily closed. Library materials can be returned to any branch of Halifax Public Libraries; the two closest branches are the Bedford Public Library and the Keshen Goodman Public Library. Library users who have selected the Sackville Public Library as a location to pick up holds are encouraged to choose another location during the closure; otherwise, requested items will not be available until the library reopens.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by the closure and we look forward to serving you in the refurbished branch.
